Paediatric Life Support Training
The Paediatric Life Support training course is designed for those responsible for looking after babies and children. By the end of the course you will be able to manage ill and injured babies and children.
This Paediatric Life Support training course covers the European resuscitation guidelines on Basic Paediatric Resuscitation. Also covered on the course are areas of interest such as the management of injured babies and children and how to recognise and treat common medical conditions such as asthma and seizures. This Paediatric Life Support training course is suitable for those who look after babies and children. During the practical resuscitation lessons baby and child resuscitation manikins are used.
The course requires involvement in both theory and practical sessions.
This course is delivered over 8 hours, possible in the following formats:
1 day 09:00-17:00;
2 half-day sessions of 4 hours;
3 evening sessions of 3 hours per session.
For the practical sessions ladies are advised to wear trousers, and all candidates should wear casual dress. The course is supported by handouts, which highlight areas considered to be of particular importance.
This course is assessed by the trainer.

- Control of Bleeding.
- Management of Burns.
- Head Injuries.
- Signs and Recognition of Medical Conditions.
