First Aid at Work Training
The First Aid at Work training course is designed to enable people designated as a First Aider to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency situation at work.
At the end of the course the candidate will be able to manage a casualty who is injured at work, or suffers from a serious illness, while waiting for more qualified medical help to arrive.
Candidates will also have knowledge of the legal requirement of First Aid at Work, be able to undertake simple record keeping and maintain simple records of treatment, accident reporting (RIDDOR), and know the contents of first aid boxes (what they should contain and want they should not contain).
Each First Aid at Work training course is specifically designed depending on the candidate’s workplace.
3 Day First Aid at Work Training Course:
The aims and objectives of the First Aid at Work (FAW) training course are to enable people to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency situation. Each course is specifically designed depending on the candidate’s workplace.
This Course is delivered over three days.
2 Day First Aid at Work Refresher Course:
The aims and objectives of the First Aid at Work (Refresher) training course are to update the candidate’s first aid skills and knowledge, and to enable people to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency situation. Each course is specifically designed depending on the candidate’s workplace.
Attendance on this course is open to holders of a valid First Aid at Work Certificate issued under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The current certificate should be in date before the refresher course starts. On successful completion a certificate will be issued under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This Course is delivered over two days.
Dress for the course should be casual. Ladies are advised to wear trousers.
Certificates are valid for three years from the date of issue.

- Management of the Unconscious Casualty.
- Control of Bleeding.
- Management of Burns.
- Head Injuries.
- Fractures.
- Spinal Injuries.
- How to Recognize and Treat Common Medical Conditions.
- Record Keeping.
- Contents of First Aid Boxes.
- Demonstrate Safe Use of the Automated External Defibrillator. (AED)
